It’s the end of another year – only my sixth here and perhaps my busiest. Looking after children, building two new houses, opening our bar and restaurant, starting, finishing and publishing my second book, starting research for the Bradt guide to the Gambia, hosting a couple of hundred guests, visiting the UK for nearly two months and running several trekking tours – phew.
Next year I intend to slow down, slightly, but with two trips planned to two Guineas, finishing the Gambia guide, potentially working on another one and more things planned, it may be a while before I can relax.
As the end of year approaches, here are some of the blogs from the past year that you may have missed. Click on the sentences to read the blogs.
We appeared in a pop video (we’re on at about 1 min)
I finished my second book, Chasing Hornbills which many, including the publisher, claimed to be better than the first (for me, they’re like children – I can’t choose)
I returned to Dakar and continued through to Saint Louis and the holy city of Touba (which I haven’t written up yet)
Happy New Year to you all and thanks for reading.
