I was awoken last night by the howling wind slamming our shutters. It felt slightly cooler and there was a light drizzle this morning, but by 10am I was as hot as always. After the rains end, the heat and humidity builds and becomes more intense, until suddenly it breaks in November and I start wearing a fleece and huddling around the fire every night.
I’ve been a little quiet on the blogging front lately as I’ve been suffering somewhat with raw blisters all over by chest and back. They were diagnosed as a bacterial infection and I was given antibiotics – but doctors here give antibiotics for everything. Gulliver had chicken pox a couple of weeks ago and my illness bears all the symptoms of shingles – it certainly hurts like hell and I’m barely sleeping. I’ll tell you one thing – accidentally spraying 50% Deet on the open wounds doesn’t help. I danced like a monkey on fire.
